Do you wish to make international calls from any country, but have Caller ID indicate you were in a different country – perhaps the United States? This can be done and it is perfectly legal and just because you own the number that Caller ID will be showing! The caller ID is your own phone number. It just happens to be in another country and just happens not to be from where you are dialing.
Interested? Here is how it is done. You own a call forwarding number in any of over 80 major countries.What is a call forwarding number? A call forwarding number is a number you own in any country that, when someone dials it, the call forwards and rings to (terminates) at another number. So, perhaps you have family, friends or business in the United States. But you are in Sweden. You do not want your family, friends or business people to have to dial internationally and pay the cost to contact you. In this case you can have either a local number in any of hundreds of cities in the US OR a national toll free number that forwards to your home, office or mobile in Sweden. When someone calls you, they simply dial a US toll free or local number. The carrier forwards the number to you instantly. You pay for the call! This explains what call forwarding is, but for our caller ID purposes, you do NOT need use the forwarding capability. In this case, you simply want ownership of the phone number.You also have an international callback service provided by the same company from which you have the call forwarding number.What is international callback? International callback is a service that has been means to make cheap international calls for about the last 20 years. It is done by having an assigned US phone number that when called reverses the call back to you. You simply dial from wherever you are and hang up after one ring. The system then promptly calls you back and asks you where you wish to call. What has happened here is that you have by-passed the local provider in your country and accessed cheaper and higher quality US service!So, in order to make cheap, high quality international calls from any phone in the world and have caller ID indicate you are in the US or another country, you simply combine the service of international callback with the ownership of the call forwarding number!!
Example: You are located in South Africa and wish to make discount calls and have the person you are calling view caller ID showing you are in the United States. This is done by simply having a US call forwarding number for less than $6 a month. Then you have your standard international callback account that allows you to make calls cheaply using fiber optic lines (not Voice over internet). The person you call will see on caller ID only your own US phone number.
